Biography
Karl P. Kilb III is an entrepreneurial leader with more than 25 years of experience in building and monetizing intellectual property, including data and analytics, secure transaction systems, identity verification, mobile payments and other technology, as well as multimedia content.
Karl joined Boloro Global Limited as the CEO on October 1, 2016, bringing vast, worldwide experience in the financial markets, including secure, electronic transactions, as well as negotiation of a wide range of technology development and licensing agreements. At Boloro, Karl leads a worldwide team that is actively licensing the company’s globally patented multi-factor and multi-channel authentication process, which is ideal for all forms of identity verification and transaction validation.
Boloro Global Limited is a New York City-based Delaware USA corporation with patents in more than 90 countries and subsidiaries in Dubai, UAE and Delhi, India. Boloro is addressing the world’s need for user-friendly, instantaneous and secure identity verification and transaction validation for fraud-free online banking, eCommerce, payments and other activity. Boloro’s solution is compatible with all mobile phones, including smartphones and feature phones, and the process has been certified by the GSMA (Global Association of Mobile Carriers). The keystroke-by-keystroke audit trail can also be used to create a credit history for financial inclusion.
Karl spent most of his career at Bloomberg LP, including more than 15 years as the General Counsel. At Bloomberg, Karl built and managed a global Legal and Compliance Department that supported all aspects of Bloomberg’s worldwide businesses, including data, analytics, news, software, telecom and electronic trading. Karl was also a founding principal of Bloomberg Tradebook LLC, the company’s electronic agency brokerage firm, and Bloomberg’s Risk Manager, overseeing all insurance coverage.
Karl regularly lectures on legal, business development and entrepreneurial issues, including at the Fordham University School of Law, where he is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Entrepreneurial Law Advisory Council. He has also advised a wide range of companies and is a mentor to students at NYU and Fordham University.
Prior to becoming a lawyer in 1995, Karl was a broadcast journalist with CNBC, Financial News Network, 1010 WINS Radio and Bloomberg, among others. A native New Yorker and resident of NYC with his wife, Alexis Christoforous, and their three children, Karl graduated magna cum laude from NYU with a B.A. in broadcast journalism and from the Fordham University School of Law with a focus on intellectual property and securities regulations. Karl was a member of Fordham’s Intellectual Property Law Journal. Karl is also involved with several charities and organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America and Yorkville Travel Baseball.

What defines a successful leader?
A successful leader is someone who has vision, can set the right objectives and motivate the team to collectively achieve those goals, while creating an environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.
Culture and talent are important to any company’s success. How do you engage and inspire your workforce?
Communication is essential. The team needs to understand the objectives and see the path forward, knowing that effort, teamwork and innovation are always appreciated.
Innovation and disruption are reshaping industries every day. What do you see as the number one game-changer facing businesses today?
The world is becoming increasingly mobile, with online banking, eCommerce and access to social media and data all requiring secure identity verification. Boloro sees its unique authentication process, which is separate from the Internet and the Operating System, as a game-changer across all industries.
Challenges abound in today’s fast-changing business environment. What keeps you up at night?
I’m constantly trying to get Boloro’s authentication process in front of governments, banks, eCommerce providers and others worldwide, as fraudsters become increasingly more sophisticated. We’re awake at all hours!
