Biography
Paul Broadhurst is CEO and founder of UK Group Technetix (founded 1990).
Technetix sells market critical technology to major broadband cable and telecommunications operators worldwide. This market is growing exponentially, which is driven strongly by increasing demand for media rich content. Technetix technology enables them to increase their network capacity, improve operating efficiency and reduce costs. Technetix is an international group operating globally with operations all across Europe and Americas, employing 200 people in twenty countries and selling in to 90 countries. Recent sales development is expanding the business into Latin America and Asia Pacific.
Paul has grown Technetix into a group of over £118m (€135m, US$150) revenue.

What defines a successful leader?
A successful leader creates the environment in an organisation. He or she has to surround him or herself with the smartest, most capable people with the right attitude. These people spend their whole time looking to develop people around them. A successful leader runs an open environment, where ideas are nurtured.
Culture and talent are important to any company’s success. How do you engage and inspire your workforce?
I do consider myself, and thus the company, to be a maverick. We challenge everything!
We politely disrupt and gain market share against our competitors not by price, but with innovation, and by delivering it with speed from a deep understanding of technology, logistics, extensive engineering capability and our customers’ business. We challenge our customers with different ways of working, which we find they like very much.
Innovation and disruption are reshaping industries every day. What do you see as the number one game-changer facing businesses today?
Today, merely delivering solutions with leading technology, on time and to exacting standards is not good enough. We must know our customers intimately and offer them the greatest solutions often ones they never thought they needed.
Challenges abound in today’s fast-changing business environment. What keeps you up at night?
Business environmental stability is the biggest challenge.
- Brexit is it happening is it not happening?
- Is America having a trade war with China or not?
- Are banks lending or are they not?
- Currency stability
