Special Session: The Path to Net Zero: Collaboration & Innovation

Pre-registration is required for this session. Attendance is limited.

Proudly Sponsored By Schneider Electric.

Meeting climate targets will require a multi-pronged approach that includes innovation and collaboration across industries and sectors. The IEA predicts that achieving net zero by 2050 is still possible, but a global commitment to significant transformation is necessary. In order to meet this goal, renewable energy capacity will need to triple by the end of the decade and green investments will need to more than double to $4.5 trillion annually by early 2030s.

Join us as we kick off the 2024 Bloomberg Sustainable Business Summit in London and bring together local leaders, founders and industry experts to discuss tech-forward solutions to lower emissions and the partnerships and investments required to scale.

Special Session: Solving the Climate Disclosure Puzzle: Strategies for Issuers & Investors

Pre-registration is required for this invitation-only Bloomberg New Economy roundtable. Attendance is limited.

New disclosure rules on climate risks adopted by regulators in Europe and the US have introduced a host of complexities and additional costs for tens of thousands of companies. And investors have yet to fully determine how they’ll incorporate these disclosures when assessing the risks or opportunity associated with any individual issuer or security.

While survey data indicate broad support for streamlined climate disclosures, regulators around the world have different priorities and constituents to satisfy. How should issuers caught between the demands of inconsistent EU and US regulations respond? Where can companies and investors agree on the substance and spirit of climate risks? Is there room for a “super standard” that harmonizes the jurisdictional gaps?

This roundtable, hosted by Bloomberg New Economy Editorial Director Erik Schatzker under the Chatham House Rule, will bring together business leaders and investors to dissect the challenges of implementing climate disclosures, with the goal of identifying how these new data, standards, and metrics can be utilized to maximum benefit in the investor-corporate dialogue.
