Special Session: Scaling Blended Finance for Transition in Asia

Pre-registration is required for this session. Attendance is limited.

Proudly Sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank.

The world needs to reduce carbon dioxide emissions fast. Getting to net zero means emerging markets and developing economies will need trillions of dollars to replace coal plants with cleaner energy, improve electrical grids and retrain workers.

According to the IMF the mitigation and adaptation funding gap, in Asia alone, sits at $815BN a year. Such sums cannot be delivered just through public financing. Strong partnerships between the public and private sector are needed to plug gaps in funding and unlock policy reform.

We convene a roundtable of experts and ask – what is standing in the way of blended finance being scaled up in support of a transition that is just and inclusive in Asia?
