Founder and CEO of Victor, Europe’s fastest growing on-demand private jet charter brokerage, Clive Jackson has brought complete transparency to the quote, compare and operator selection process. He has set a new environmental standard for the aviation industry, mandating that every Victor flight is not just carbon neutral but double carbon offset by offsetting 200% of the CO2 emissions of every flight.
His aim is to make Victor the world’s most environmentally responsible jet charter company, ensuring that when customers choose to fly privately, they recognize that privilege comes with the responsibility to mitigate their emissions.
Victor is on a mission to make aircraft charter more transparent, faster and easier than ever before
Our innovative approach appeals to business pioneers, entrepreneurs and thought-leaders who value a unique combination of on-demand booking technology, transparent pricing and exceptional 24/7 service meaning they are always connected and in control.
Victor aims to become the world’s most environmentally responsible jet charter brand, committed to define a sustainable future for private aviation
A serial tech entrepreneur, Clive Jackson has always been at the forefront of the digital revolution. A successful innovator in web services and e-commerce platforms, he has shaped the digital strategy behind many Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies. Clive is renowned for his creative vision and solid understanding of how new technology is changing the way consumers engage with established brands and is disrupting traditional value chains.
In 2011, Clive launched on-demand private jet charter business Victor out of a frustration with the lack of transparency in the private jet charter industry. Victor sought to revolutionise jet charter with its on-demand, fully-transparent and subscription-free marketplace offering.
Clive has been continually committed to innovation since Victor’s inception, most recently launching an industry-first climate action campaign and CEO initiative – Beyond Offset – to set a sustainability benchmark in aviation. Under Clive’s leadership, Victor has grown rapidly and is listed in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019), the Deloitte UK Tech Fast 50 (2016, 2017) and the FT Top 1000 fastest growing European companies (2017, 2018). Having achieved US$26 million in Series B funding in 2017, attracting significant investment from BP Ventures, Clive formed the Alyssum Group in early 2018 to create an investment vehicle with the ambition of developing a digital eco-system to service customers, operators, brokers and suppliers. The group’s portfolio currently consists of Victor and leading aviation services and flight-planning business RocketRoute.
What defines a successful leader?
Eternally curious and prepared to ask questions and challenge the status quo. Successful leaders are agents of change bold enough to set targets and are willing to be measured by their results.
Culture and talent are important to any company’s success. How do you engage and inspire your workforce?
For me, it’s essential that every employee understands the mission and vision. When people understand the reason why they are doing something and relate their contribution to the bigger picture, they are naturally more engaged. No matter their position in the business, every employee has a voice and I encourage conversation, debate and ideas. It’s crucial that staff feel valued and recognize their opportunity contribute to shaping the business.
Innovation and disruption are reshaping industries every day. What do you see as the number one game-changer facing businesses today?
Purpose not just profit. ESG and a purpose-led business strategy, as opposed to treating sustainability as an after-thought, is becoming an essential component of growth.
Challenges abound in today’s fast-changing business environment. What keeps you up at night?
Balancing the demands of all my stakeholders; from strategic industry investors to early stage friends and family investors, the leadership team, and staff; as well as the desire to constantly innovate.
